We do accept perishable items. We are lucky to have a walk-in cooler, a store cooler unit, and may other cold storage spaces for perishable items.
Can I donate items from my garden?
Yes! Our families love having fresh produce available to them! We accept any items you are willing to share.
Do you accept outdated items?
We ask that you use your best judgment in this area. Consider a few questions: Is the can significantly damaged? Is this something that I would consume?
Do you accept items from an estate clean-out?
When a loved one passes, some people are unsure of what to do with food items left behind. We accept items from an estate but we ask that no opened items or those which are significantly outdated are brought to The Caring Cupboard.
Are my gifts tax-deductible?
We do operate under a 501(c)(3) (FEIN 82-0730818) and will be able to provide a receipt for items brought to The Caring Cupboard. Please consult your tax advisor on your particular situation with regards to tax deductions.
Who benefits from my donations?
At The Caring Cupboard, your donations help to feed families in the Palmyra and Annville-Cleona areas. On occasion, we do fulfill out of the area emergency food assistance requests when a person in need visits The Caring Cupboard. We qualify families by comparing their annual income to the poverty guideline. For families at or below 225% of the poverty guideline, we offer weekly assistance.
